Tikorangi School is set in a rural environment bordered by lovely Tikorangi farmland. We are also very lucky to have access to a bush area which we are able to use for trapping, outdoor classroom and nature studies which ties in nicely with us being an Enviro school.
We are enrolment zoned and have between 165-180 Year 1-6 students.
Our school values of “our 4 R’s” are a huge part of who we are. Our values are: Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Rangimarie.
We are like a big family here where our older students look after our younger students. We encourage our students to take risks in their learning and in their play and you will see students climbing trees, making huts and mai mais and generally enjoying school.
We very proudly hold our show day once a year where students bring along their lambs, calves, goats, chickens or pets for judging.
We have a strong ‘investigation’ philosophy where students’ interests and talents are fostered and grown through ‘Learn through Play’ and ‘Passion Projects’.
We have a teacher aide for every class to support students in literacy time and this is funded by Todd Energy.
We have 1:1 devices for our Year 4-6 students. Our Year 5-6 students have many leadership opportunities ranging from sports captains, cultural leader, school councillor, enviro leader.
School camps are very important to us and we hold these once a year for our Year 4-6 students.
We welcome you and your family.
